Inspectional Services has been in the neighborhood each of the last 2 days & have left Orange Notification Panels at area houses.

Father, 11-Year-Old Son Stabbed In Cambridge Home on Pearl Street

State and local police are looking for a man who broke into a Cambridge home early Thursday morning and stabbed a father and his 11-year-old son.

Investigators say the man broke into the back of a house on Pearl Street around 1 a.m. and was confronted by the boy on the first floor of the home.

Voter registration deadline for primary is Aug. 25

European Fire Ants Discovered in Danehy Park

In late July, European fire ants (Myrmica rubra) were discovered in Danehy Park and on three residential properties on Bellis Circle adjacent to the park. Experts believe the ants arrived in Cambridge about five years ago on plants brought in from Maine by the Bellis Circle homeowners.

Quebec forest fires trigger smoke over Cambridge, Boston

If you see smoke over Cambridge, don’t be alarmed. It’s smoke drifting from Quebec forest fires over northern New England, WCVB reports.

Conditions were expected to improve Monday night as the winds were expected to shift, according to the National Weather Service.
