Father, 11-Year-Old Son Stabbed In Cambridge Home on Pearl Street

State and local police are looking for a man who broke into a Cambridge home early Thursday morning and stabbed a father and his 11-year-old son.

Investigators say the man broke into the back of a house on Pearl Street around 1 a.m. and was confronted by the boy on the first floor of the home.

His 53-year-old father was asleep upstairs.  He woke up and intervened, but was stabbed several times. The boy was stabbed once and the man ran off.

A neighbor called 911 and the father and son were rushed to the hospital.

The father needed surgery and is now in serious condition.  The boy’s wounds are said to be superficial.

Both are expected to recover. They were the only people in the home at the time of the attack.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set white man.
