As you know, the School Committee is undertaking an internal and external search for a new superintendent. The SC has hired Ray and Associates to help us in this process. In our attempt to gain as much community input as possible, and to stick to our strict timeline, a number of meetings have been scheduled for Tuesday, December 2 and Wednesday, December 3, 2008. Each of these meetings is one hour in length and will be run by Ray and Associates. Please note that each of the meetings are for different groups. Parents should only attend those meetings designated for “parents”.
Although my colleagues and I wish to attend these sessions, we have been advised by the search firm not to do so and to allow them to conduct these forums without any elected officials present, so as to allow participants to speak freely and openly. Our search firm will then collect the data, correlate it, and meet with the School Committee to discuss their findings.
This is your time to be involved! We sincerely desire your input to help guide us in our search. This is the most important decision this committee will make and we want and value your opinion. Please make every effort to attend!
