Griswold-Sunset Meeting Outcome

Hello Everyone,

Sorry it has taken so long to post a reply about the outcome of our meeting from Tuesday, Oct 23rd but here is a quick summary of what was discussed. The current marking on the pavement our out. Everyone in the neighborhood agreed that would not work out and he’s going back to the drawing board. Also after the meeting he’s going to check into the following:

  • Speed table(s) Hopefully we can get at least one in the neighborhood. Everyone that attending our meeting on Friday, Oct 19th agreed this would be a good solution for slowing down speed. Juan needs to check with several other departments to see if this is a viable option or not.
  • No left turn onto S. Normandy during morning rush hours.
  • Another option for the Griswold-Sunset intersection that’ll include a stop sign and turn it into a definite intersection. There is no chance for a 3 way stop at that intersection as Griswold just continues through.
  • Check into the possibility of adding a left hand turn signal for Griswold to turn onto Concord.
  • Relocation of the Dead End signs closer to Concord and making them more visible.
  • Replacing the existing children at play sign and adding more.

Juan also touched based on all of our suggestions from the letter Matt wrote up. He did say that a 3 way stop was out and that the city does not use speed bumps.

Matt and myself will be following up with Juan shortly to get a status update on what information, ideas and/or proposals he has come up with.

Eric
