Belmont, MA – Traffic on Pleasant Street in the area of the intersection of Pleasant Street and Brighton Street will be detoured beginning August 20th and continuing through August 24, 2007. Motorist should expect significant delays and should seek alternates routes to avoid Pleasant Street if possible. Due to road condition the Belmont Police are asking all motorists not to exceed 20MPH on roads used for detours.

  •  Traffic traveling westbound on Pleasant Street from Arlington into Belmont will be detoured south onto Lake Street. Traffic will flow from Lake Street to Cross Street westbound. Pleasant Street can be accessed from Cross Street by turning north on Munroe Street.
  • Traffic exiting Rt. 2 eastbound, exit 59, into Belmont will be detoured onto Lake Street.
  • Brighton Street in Belmont will be open to residents only.
  • Simmons Ave at Brighton Street will be closed.
  • Scott Road and Prospect Street will be open to southbound traffic only.
  • Eastbound traffic on Pleasant Street will be detoured south on Munroe Street to eat on Cross Street.
